Registration
Visitors with the purpose of study or research can use this library by following the registration procedures explained below.
Qualifications to Use the Library
A person older than 18 years old.
One-day Registration
Bring an ID card which shows your present address (ex. driver's license, passport, or alien registration card) to the library counter (2F).
You may use the library but you may not check out materials.
Long-term registration
Bring an ID card which shows your present address (ex. driver's license, passport, or alien registration card) and a recent photograph (3 cm × 3 cm), to the library counter (2F).
A "Library User Card" will be issued to you.
You may use the library and check out materials.
You can use the library until March 31 of the fiscal year in which you registered.
When the fiscal year changes, you must renew your registration. Bring an ID card when you update your registration

Closed Days: national holidays, Sundays during vacation, Christmas, and summer and winter school holidays. Please refer to the calendar on the homepage for details.
You cannot use the library during the examination periods. All schedule changes will be announced on the homepage before they occur.
Entry/Exit
You need your Library User's Card to enter/exit the library.
The entrance of the library is on the 2F of the library building.
If you attempt to take non-checked out materials from the library, an alarm will sound at the exit gate. Please follow the library staff's instructions.
How to use materials in the library
Some library materials are on open stacks (those on the 1~3 F of the main building), and other materials are on closed stacks.
Open Stack Materials | You may freely use books and periodicals from these shelves. After using materials, please return them to the return carts located near the stacks. |

Closed Stack Materials |
The library staff will bring these materials to you from the closed stacks. To use closed stack materials, fill out a “Closed Stack Call Slip” and ask at the counter. You may borrow closed stack materials. Please return the closed stack materials to the counter when you finish using them. |
Xeroxing |
There are two types of copy machines: ones that use pre-paid cards and ones that take coins. Copy machines in the library are only for copying library materials. Please observe all copyright laws. |

How to Borrow Materials
Bring your Library User's Card and materials to the counter.

How to Return Materials
Please return all materials to the counter.
When the library is closed, you can return materials at the book post located outside of the library.
You must return all materials by their due date.
※As a penalty, a check-out suspension of 3 days will be imposed for every day beyond the due date that materials are returned.
How to Extend the Loan Period
If you want to borrow books or periodicals again immediately after the due date, bring them to the counter along with your Library User's Card.
If someone else has not reserved the materials, you may extend their loan period.
How to Reserve Books
You may reserve books or periodicals that are presently on loan.
You can reserve materials that are labeled “In circulation" in the "status" column on the Online Catalog.
Please apply at the counter to reserve materials.
You will be notified on the bulletin board in the library entrance (2F) when the materials you requested are available. (The hold period is one week.)
Attention
Please work quietly inside the library in order not to disturb others.
Please set your mobile phone to silent mode, and do not make phone calls inside the library.
Eating and drinking are prohibited inside the library except in the Refreshment Room. You may bring drinks in closed containers such as PET bottles or water bottles into the library. Please drink from these only while seated at a desk.
You may bring personal belongings into the library, but you should always keep them with you. You can ask one of the library staff at the counter if you would like to use a locker. The library cannot assume any responsibility for loss of personal belongings.
You cannot take photographs in the library without permission. Please ask the library staff before taking any photographs or videos.
If you lose or damage any library materials, you will be charged for them. You must report any lost or damaged materials immediately.
You should report the loss of your Library User’s Card immediately.
Due to special university events, your use of the library may be limited or refused.
If you do not follow any specific instructions or requests from the library staff, you may be refused use of the library.
Visitors to the library cannot use the university parking lot. Please use public transportation to come to the library.
